What you should know about goiter and nodules
Most of the time, no one gives a second thought to the thyroid —as it appears to be functioning flawlessly. However, what many people are unaware of is: even in a normally-functioning thyroid, problems can occur (for instance, in the form of a goiter and/or nodules). Fortunately, such mutations are not an inescapable fate. Thanks to modern medicine and diverse treatment options, they can be managed successfully (and this usually without complications). The sooner a mutation is recognised, the more successful the treatment.
